fragile things

I always admire people who makes, and keeps beautiful things.
those intricate, fragile things.

these things, lets face it, are bound to break.
People would do their very best to prevent them from damage, by clasping them with their both hands, wrap themselves around them, protecting, shielding them, from harm, something, anything.

But eventually, it breaks.

maybe because the people forget to hold them tightly enough, by pure chance, by accident, by other cruel people, or even because they held it too tightly.

People would look at the broken fragments of once- beautiful things, and lament over their loss. they themselves would be shattered, feel broken.

but i feel, that the sheer level of sorrow or shock they may feel, is just another indication of how precious and magnificent that thing was,
to the person, or people sharing it.

that way, even the broken pieces seem fantastic to me.

the fragments of promises, friends, dreams, memories...
and everything you've created.

Hahaha. I've made several little soapstone sculptures that my cat thought were great things to smack off my desk, shelf, etc. They were just soapstone. I gave them the "one last look" and tossed them in the trash. Life is worth more. But, then again, that's what were you talking about, wasn't it. :P
