attempt

there is this term called a butterfly effect, which is a concept in chaos theory.

it refers to the idea that a butterfly's wings might create tiny changes in the atmosphere that may ultimately alter the path of a tornado or delay, accelerate or even prevent the occurrence of a tornado in a certain location.

in a more technical meaning, a slight change in the initial condition causes a great change in the consequence of things.

in the light of having to declaim poems for the UN day thing, I have contemplated about peace. it seems almost impossible to achieve peace, in a materialistic world like this.

however, as i thought how those people actually believe in those things called peace, i saw a butterfly hovering around me, reminding me of the above butterfly effect.

in the chaos that is our world now, we can always flutter our butterfly wings, which are simple and small acts of generosity. perhaps offering seats in bus or helping the blind cross a street may change my, and other people's perception of life ever-so-slightly, and consequently cause a large difference.

i won't ask for peace, but i hope it becomes closer to a world where people would be nice to each other just for the sake of being nice. have mercy, and etc.

see i can write something not depressing afterall.
(lately some people have been accusing me of making them depressed via conversation on msn)
