something that shines

I took a taxi to college last friday.

I really liked the ride, for some reason.

but hear me, the taxi was in a bad.... no, more than bad, perhaps horrible and grotesque state.

when i opened the door, there were a couple of cockroaches sitting on the backseat, neatly lined up and pensieve on the rugged seat. i had to politely tap near them to secure a seat for myself (and thank god i looked at the seat before seating, or else it would have been two sickening splotches on my jeans), there was a fly in the taxi, and the driver smelled funny.

the driver was an indian man, who insisted that he knew the way, but he obviously had no idea. I had to navigate him to college, and his driving skill equalled that of a L driver who never really had a chance to practice (we were honked 3 times because of that)

I had to jerk my body every minuite or so, just to make sure Mr & Mrs cockroach did not decide to crawl into my jeans.

so why, why why why did I like the taxi ride?

the window was open, and it let in the cool air of 6:30 morning instead of the mundane cold flow of air-cond, and the fact that pretty much everything was so bad about the taxi, gave me a sense of an unordinarity, an idiosyncratic sense of being inside that taxi.

it was as if I had rode a real Malaysian taxi, since a very long time.
the indian guy was not a bad guy either, although he really should notice just how many passengers (human or not) he is actually accomodating in his car.

on friday i found myself thinking, that even though life is shit and everything isn't going well, if you could find something that shines, or something that you like in the midst of deep-shit you're in, the surrounding shit turns into something that accompany the shining-one-something, and the whole thing could seem pleasent.

or it could be just me being slightly odd.

thanks, would you mind if i link you back? (in fact i already did, so its a rhethorical question of sort)

i couldn't kill Mr. and Mrs. C...
they may be unpleasent, but who knows, that might have been their honeymoon, or otherwise, they have to feed hundreds of their cute little offsprings.
(i am now having goosebumps around my back for the imagery. Do i have something on my back? something feels like its crawling.)
